As a leader in cosmetic active ingredients manufacturing, we think that one of our main concern is sustainability. And as Sederma is not just about products, or how they are made, or how they are used, we are also considering the impact of our activities on:

Here are examples of concrete actions to illustrate our commitment to reduce the impact of our activities:

Our partners:

    puce bleue Sederma’s employees, agents and distributors are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with Croda’s code of ethics.

    puce rose Sederma is an active member of the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCi), INGRECOS, and also COSMED and thus participate in finding solutions to combine economic success with social and environmental responsibility.

Our world:

    puce verte Sederma uses plant cell culture to produce molecules of interest in quantities without causing any damages to the environment: natural environment preservation, no more need for transportation, no use of pesticides and GMOs,…

    puce orange Sederma has chosen supercritical carbon dioxide extraction as one of its main production techniques: no more use of solvents and preservatives.

    puce bleue Environmental objectives have been set and are shared by all Sederma’s employees:
    • 2% decrease of energy consumption per year,
    • 5 % decrease of water consumption per year,
    • Waste minimisation: no buried waste, generalised sorting of recyclables.

    puce rose Sederma has been awarded three 'peonies' for its compliance with the Cosmetic Valley's Eco-Responsible Charter. These 'peonies', allocated on a scale of 1 to 4, recognize companies meeting a number of environmental and societal criteria, as defined by this charter and validated by the AB Certification body.

Our people:

    puce verte It is Sederma’s policy to promote a working environment free from discrimination. The company does not tolerate discrimination in any aspect of employment practices such as in any areas of recruitment, selection, promotion, development, or reward.

    puce orange Sederma’s employees benefit from customised training programs to help them reinforce or develop new skills in order to facilitate their professional fulfilment.

    puce bleue Sederma has set up a carpooling system for its employees to cut down on their transportation costs and fatigue while reducing their carbon footprint.

Our community:

    puce rose Sederma regularly organises food raising campaigns within the company for the Food Bank which then distributes the donated goods to those in need. 

    puce verte Sederma employees are active members of the “Société française de Cosmétologie”. Since 1951, SFC has aimed to spread the knowledge concerning Biological and Chemical Sciences and to bring together members from all horizons, Chemists, Biologists, Dermatologists, Toxicologists, Perfumers who have contributed to the development of Cosmetology during 21st century.

    puce orange Sederma has adopted Croda's policy of the 1% Club which allows each employee to get a full day off (paid by Sederma) dedicated to a local activity with benefits for the community (charity, environmental protection, scholar support,...).
