CHROMOCARE™

Chromophore mapping reveals skin ageing delay

Beautiful and young skin is a skin without imperfections. The skin being the visible part of you, but with just a few differences of complexion homogeneity and texture may not let you look as attractive as you can be.
Whereas young skin is perfect, ageing skin is less protected and vulnerable: oxidative stress has an influence on its texture and colour, red blood vessels and brown aged spots are more and more visible.
That is why, Sederma is launching CHROMOCARE™, an active substance which associates two plant extracts, to form an unprecedented anti-ageing skin care based on chromophore mapping. A chromophore is a coloured molecule able to absorb light waves, and therefore restituates a perceptible colour.

Normal human skin appearance to the eye under visible light (400-700 nm) is mainly driven by the concentration and distribution of melanin, haemoglobin and collagen. One also notices a strong difference in the concentration and homogeneity of these chromophores between young and aged skin. CHROMOCARE™ specifically targets each chromophore in order to confer the skin with a fresher, younger look.

The efficacy of CHROMOCARE™ has been proven with several in vitro tests in order to show the reinforcement of structure molecules, the action on inflammatory mediator and free radicals and the direct effect on pigmentation.

Sederma also carried out a clinical study which involved 25 panellists with a twice daily application of a cream containing 3% CHROMOCARE™ for 2 months. A chromophore mapping involving VISIA® system and SIAscope® technologies revealed a significant decrease in redness and brown spots while improving collagen homogeneity.
